We have looked for you once again for a racing drone with FPV mode. We came across the Emax Tinyhawk. This is a damn small mini drone for indoor use.

Despite its small size, this model can achieve top speeds of up to 15 kilometers per hour. A disadvantage is the short flight time of only 4 minutes.

For about 90 € you get a set consisting of the FPV racing drone, remote control and FPV glasses.

Technical data and facts

Built in are 4 brushless 08025 electric motors with extra strong ball bearings. This improves the flight performance and quality and ensures longer durability. In itself we like the inverted motor design very much, although the electric motors could be a bit bigger, which would give them more power.

But 54 kilometers per hour is already a remarkable speed which the copter can reach. Please keep in mind that the model is more suitable for indoor use, ideally in a large hall.

In order that the motors can be better maintained, these are plug-in motors.

Thanks to the integrated MPU6000 gyroscope, which ensures low-vibration operation, and the fast F4 processor, an especially stable and smooth flight attitude of the quadrocopter is guaranteed.

Design

Small, compact and handy are the most striking features that come to the fore when looking at the quadrocopter.

The drone can’t be folded either, it doesn’t need to be, because due to its small size it even fits in a trouser pocket.

The base frame is about 75 mm, which is quite small for a racing drone. Above it is the mini camera. In addition, the rotor blades are extensively protected, so that even beginners have no problems gaining initial flying experience with this model. The stable structure allows the camera to forgive the one or other fall.

Camera

The built-in camera has a total of 37 channels. It is a 600TVL CMOS sensor with a VTX power of 25 mw.

Such cams are very popular with racing drones because they are cheap. At the same time the quality of the picture and video recordings is okay, but it could be better.

Transmitter

The EMAX E6 transmitter with 6 channels and a transmission frequency of 2.4 Ghz ISM band, i.e. 2400 Mhz to 2483.5 Mhz, serves as transmitter.

Battery performance and flight time

The flight battery is only 450 mAh. This is a 1S 4.35 Volt battery with a discharge rating of 80c / 160c.

In our opinion the battery power is too low, because the maximum flight time resulting from this is about 4 minutes. In the end it is also true that the drone is simply damn small and a better battery would have to be bigger to store more charge capacity and to increase the flight time significantly.

Advantages and disadvantages of the Emax Tinyhawk Indoor FPV Racing Quadrocopter

Advantages:

  • Inexpensive model which is well suited for beginners
  • High quality electric drive
  • Ideal for indoor flights
  • Reaches top speeds of up to 54 kilometres per hour
  • FPV goggles included in delivery

Cons:

  • The camera could be a little better, but for the price it is okay

Conclusion

Despite a few disadvantages, the Emax Tinyhawk indoor FPV racing drone is definitely recommendable. We were especially surprised by the high speed that can be reached with this drone, but we were also disturbed by the short flight time.

For beginners the model is certainly perfect and we can recommend it to anyone who wants to save some money when buying a drone and still have a high quality model.
