The Potensic GPS FPV drone is a great beginner drone, which has the most important features to make the flight entry as comfortable as possible for beginners. It even has a Full-HD camera.
The price is absolutely ok for what you get here and the model can easily keep up with other drones from its price range.
The great flight characteristics, clean material processing, the design and generally the quality, speak for the Potensic GPS FPV drone.
It has a good camera, but no gimbal system, so the flight movements of the quadrocopter are unfortunately visible in the pictures. Of course you can connect your smartphone to the camera via Wi-Fi and thus transfer the pictures in real time to your device and view them during the flight.
The delivery includes all parts you need to start the drone, but the battery should be fully charged before the first use.

Technical data and facts about the drone
During our test flights we especially noticed the extremely good flight stability. Due to the modern and newly revised gyroscope. This does not work with a usual 6-axis gyroscope as usual, but with the help of a 9-axis gyroscope system. Thus the quadrocopter stands even more safely in the air and holds strongly against gusts of wind.
The photo and video recordings thus appear much more stable despite the absence of a gimbal system.
We were also very positively surprised by the automatic return function (Return To Home). With a simple push of a button you can send the drone back to the starting point quickly and easily. However, the GPS mode must be active for this. So you don’t have to worry about losing the quadrocopter.
Another great flight mode is the flight path, which you can customize with your finger on the screen. The drone will then fly the selected flight path automatically. At the same time, the most important position data of the quadrocopter are displayed via GPS.
To make it easier for beginners to handle the Potensic GPS FPV drone correctly, there is a modern headless mode, which allows you to steer the quadrocopter perfectly in all directions, no matter how the head is aligned. For example, if the model stands sideways to you and you pull the right stick towards you, the drone will still fly towards you.
In addition, there is an automatic altitude hold, and you can take off and land at the touch of a button. All these features make sure that beginners will find their way around with the Potensic GPS FPV drone very quickly.
There is also a follow me function, but we think that it is not fully developed and that it works much better and more reliable with other quadrocopter models we have tested so far.

Design
The design does indeed remind us somewhat of the DJI Phantom Drone, but it is not comparable to this model, as it is of course in a completely different price range.
There are not many special features in terms of colour, the quadrocopter has a pleasant white colour. Above, the brand name “Potensic” of the model is engraved in a light grey tone. The propellers are removable, so you can easily replace them even after a crash and damage.
The weight and dimensions of the Potensic GPS FPV are in the middle range of drones. It is not too heavy, but also not too light. This makes it ideal for fast and agile control. At the same time it has enough weight not to be caught by every gust of wind, but can steer against it consciously and powerfully.

Camera
The Potensic GPS FPV Drone has a high quality 1080P Full-HD camera, it transmits the pictures live via WiFi to your smartphone. It also has a FOV of about 120 degrees. In addition, it is adjustable in its tilt angle in a range of 75 degrees.
Thanks to the live image transmission, you can also use the drone with FPV glasses and enjoy a more realistic flight experience.
According to our tests, the video recordings are rather mediocre, but the photos are definitely worth seeing and have a very good quality. Here you can see an example photo in good lighting conditions, completely unprocessed and not compressed:
Flight characteristics
With the Potensic GPS FPV drone we were especially impressed by the great flight behaviour, after take off you can theoretically put the remote control away and the quadrocopter will remain in hovering flight without drifting off in any direction.
As already mentioned, there is an automatic altitude hold mode and the 9-axis gyroscope system, which ensure that the drone is very stable and safe in the air and can therefore avoid gusts of wind without any problems.
Battery, range and flight time
Before using the drone for the first time, we recommend that you fully charge the battery. The drone is flown with the Pontensic G-App. It can be downloaded for free from Android and iOS.
The user interface is relatively self-explanatory, but offers a lot of possibilities for settings. You could for example adjust the maximum flight altitude and range individually.
Afterwards you can use the drone to its full extent. The delivery includes a 1.000 mAh strong battery. Despite the good battery capacity, the flight time is 12 to 15 minutes maximum, which is a little bit short compared to the competition in this price range in our opinion.
In the cold season, it is even possible that there are problems with the battery life and that it is significantly reduced.
In case of rain, snow, very strong gusts of wind or extremely low temperatures in the minus range, we do not recommend you to fly outside.
The maximum transmission range is about 300 meters.

Conclusion
All in all, we can warmly recommend the Potensic GPS FPV drone to every beginner, but advanced users will not find everything so great about this model.
In our opinion the video quality could be a bit better, but the photo shots are quite good and completely sufficient for hobby use.
Unfortunately the Follow Me function is not so good, but the other modes make a very good impression and especially the flight stability surprised us very positively.
Beginners who are looking for a safe model to practice are well advised with the Potensic GPS FPV drone.
