Today we are once again presenting a powerful FPV racing drone with high-quality frame processing and especially powerful brushless electric motors.

Unfortunately there is no flight battery included. However, we recommend a battery with an XT30 connection in 4S mode, for example 650 mAh 4S, 800 mAh 4S or 1000 mAh 4S.

Most parts of the FrSky VANTAC BQ130 drone are pre-assembled, you only have to screw on the propellers, insert the battery and connect the model to the remote control, and you’re ready to fly.

Both the materials used and the flight characteristics are simply super and make the drone a model with a very good price/performance ratio.

Technical data and facts

Due to the lightweight materials the weight of the drone is optimal in relation to its size. This significantly improves the flight characteristics and the model can reach enormously high speeds. With a drone racing you have an easy game compared to the competition.

The flight behaviour is quite aggressive, the drone reacts immediately and directly to control commands, which is also an enormous advantage.

As drives 4 Sunnysky 1406 3300KV electric motors are used, which work in brushless operation. Brushless motors are usually the rule for racing drones, since they can generate significantly higher rotational speeds and thus a stronger air and drive current.

The transmitter is used in the form of the FrSky VS600 VTX 25/200/600mw with 5.8 Ghz and 48 channels. We have not yet looked at any model which has a FrSky element installed. But the VS600 is probably the first video transmitter developed by FrSky anyway. It not only has 48 channels, but also 3 different power levels (25 mW, 200 mW and 600 mW).

You can easily change the control bands and channels via 2 buttons. The transmitter also supports the pit mode.

Design and construction of the drone

The design is really not very spectacular. Many elements of the drone are made of carbon material, so they are quite light and guarantee a high stability at the same time.

The propellers are red in colour and the antenna is mounted in the rear area. It is installed vertically and not in line current at the stern.

Typically, racing drones do not have a cockpit or an extra housing. This means that the electronic components are not protected against splash water, dirt and other environmental influences. We therefore recommend not to fly the drone in bad weather conditions outdoors.

Compared to other drone models, the FrSky VANTAC BQ130 differs in its design and structure.

Usually the quadrocopter is only available in the colour “black” with red propellers.

Camera

The installed cam is the Runcam Micro Sparrow 2 camera. It is the successor of the famous Swift Micro, which is often used as FPV cam in drone racing.

The camera has a 1/3″ CMOS photo sensor and a horizontal resolution of 700TVL.

A lens with a field of view of about 165 degrees is used, whereby the screen format is 4 to 3.

The color of the outer cover is shiny violet and on the side there are the threads to mount the camera.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:

  • Fast and agile flight maneuvers possible
  • 5.8 Ghz transmitter for stable data transmission
  • High quality camera with a good resolution and clean image quality
  • The built-in electric motors (Sunnysky 1406 3300KV) ensure an enormously high performance of the drone
  • High quality propeller (Gemfan 3052 3-blade 3 inch)
  • The camera has a sharp wide-angle lens
  • Modern flight controller (stackable F3)

Disadvantages:

  • Not suitable for professional photo and video recording
  • No flight battery included

For whom is the FrSky VANTAC BQ130 quadrocopter suitable?

Racing drones such as the FrSky VANTAC BQ130 are generally not so well suited for beginners.

Advanced pilots will enjoy the high performance and stable construction of the FrSky VANTAC BQ130. The drone is perfect for fast and risky flight maneuvers and drone racing.

All in all we liked this model very much because of its high quality material processing, the stable but still agile flight behaviour and the great price/performance ratio.

Racing quadrocopters are becoming more and more popular, so a careful selection process is necessary to find the right model for you.

Quality, high speed and acceleration values, stable materials and a good FPV camera should always be available.

If you are looking for such a product, the FrSky VANTAC BQ130 drone is the right choice.

Conclusion

We have compared the most important advantages and disadvantages in this report. Now it’s up to you, can you do something with a racing drone or should it rather be a quadrocopter to take pictures and shoot video?

The quality and the price/performance ratio are in itself very good. Therefore we can definitely recommend this drone.

Here in the shop you can get the model particularly inexpensive!
