Technical data and facts about the drone
The quadrocopter is really very easy to control due to the 6 axis gyroscope flight control system. This balances the drone completely, so that it flies very stable and you can enjoy a more relaxed flight. This is especially important for newcomers, moreover a drone with such small dimensions would hardly be controllable without a stabilisation system.
The model reacts very directly to control commands and there is almost no delay. The only problem is when the battery of the remote control unit becomes weak, so it should always be fully charged.
Design
We like the design of this drone quite a bit. The elegant blue in combination with black and the futuristic structure of the model make a very modern impression.
The propellers are protected from collisions by appropriate protectors. Such protection is located above as well as on the side of the drone.
If a rotor blade should ever be damaged, you can easily and conveniently replace it, appropriate replacement propellers are included.
The dimensions of the drone are 9.5 cm x 9.5 cm x 5 cm. Unfortunately the model is so small and light that it is quite susceptible to wind. In moderate to strong winds you should therefore not fly outside!
Camera
The Rctown Mini Drone is much too small to mount a camera, unfortunately the model does not have a fixed cam, so you have to do without.
Battery, flight time and range
The drone is supplied with a 150 mAh battery that operates at a voltage of approximately 3.7 volts. Of course you can buy additional spare batteries to extend the flight time as you like.
With the flight battery you will have a total flight time of about 5 minutes, whereas the charging time should be between 30 and 50 minutes.
The transmitter requires 2 x 1.5 Volt AA batteries, which you should replace regularly to ensure that the remote control always has the maximum transmission power and that the control commands are transmitted safely and stably.
Unfortunately the batteries are not included in the package, you have to order them separately.
When the batteries are full, the remote control can transmit up to 30 metres, which we think is sufficient for such a small model.
Which flight modes are available?
The RCTown has some great modes. For example, the 360-degree flip function is great for performing a great stunt at the touch of a button. The quadrocopter then returns to automatic hover mode. For this purpose it has a 6 axis gyroscope, which keeps the drone always in a horizontal flight path.
If the drone gets lost, you can retrieve it immediately by pressing a button.
In addition, there are different speed modes to make it even easier for beginners to get used to the model aircraft.
