A very cheap quadrocopter for beginners is the Ironpeas with foldable design and a pretty long flight time.

Not only the enormously low price makes this model so extremely attractive, also the automatic altitude hold function, breathtaking 3D flips and the enormously high speed speak for the copter.

In this report we will introduce you to the most important features and show you both the advantages and disadvantages of the model.

Technical Details

Ironpeas Drone

Although the drone is really small, it is quite well made. It is controlled by a 2.4 Ghz radio control with 4 channels and has a 6-axis gyroscope system.

Thanks to the simple and lightweight construction, you can find out pretty quickly how the drone works. Included is a powerful battery that allows you to stay in the air for quite a long time.

Integrated is also a height holding function thanks to which the mini drone can hold a certain height fully automatically, even if you take your finger off the joystick.

Size, design and weight

The product dimensions of this drone are really fucking tiny. You’re looking at just 14.5 x 14.5 x 3.7 cm. The weight is only 40 grams and therefore we advise you to fly only indoors, or rather in calm conditions.

Above the head the quadrocopter has a cool blue pattern. In the front is the camera and all 4 wings of the drone can be folded up easily.

The battery can be inserted at the back and you can easily change it at any time. However, we recommend you to wait for a while between flights and not to start again immediately so that the quadrocopter does not overheat.

Camera, memory and FPV live image transmission

Unfortunately the drone does not have a real camera, but it is very well suited to get into drone flying at all, because it is very cheap and can be controlled very easily.

Battery, range and flight time

Remote control

The battery is really great. Normally drones in this price range are extremely bad in terms of flight time, but the Ironpeas manages to stay in the air for 10 to 13 minutes when the battery is fully charged. The charging time is also extremely short and is only 60 minutes. Some buyers report that they charge their drone with a mobile phone charger that provides a higher charging current. This can potentially shorten the charging time significantly, but after a while the battery quality suffers.

You can easily use several flight batteries and replace them.

Flight Stabilization

In itself the drone flies very stable, but if you want to attach an additional camera like a GoPro, flying with the copter becomes extremely unstable.

The flight stabilisation, gyro system and altitude hold function work very reliably. The flight behaviour is characterised by high stability and safety. In addition, there are different speed levels available, especially in level 3 the drone moves quite nimble. As a beginner you should stay with level 1.

Assets and drawbacks

Advantages:

  • Depending on which mode you fly in, the flight battery will last for 10 to 13 minutes of flight time
  • Folding function for a compact transport
  • Well controllable and well suited for beginners
  • Good processing of all important components
  • Headless mode
  • Very good flight feeling
  • Additional spare rotors included in delivery

Disadvantages:

  • Return function unfortunately does not work correctly

Conclusion

Packaging
